trusting your heirs to not steal it isn’t the only way it could go south. general management of keys, for instance.
they can fuck it up in many ways. lose it, expose it, get scammed. who do they trust to help them navigate bitcoin? not many people know how to use bitcoin. you’re giving a big responsibility to someone who may not fully grasp bitcoin yet.
for me, the balance of security, simplicity and usability lies in multisig.
