Someone recently asked me why I limit the species choices available in my #DnD world. The answer came down to theme -- if the species helps those themes they're in. If they don't, they aren't.
It started with an intentional 9, but players have added 2 more and the next campaign may add 4 more too.
Because talking to your players is something you do.
