It never fails to amaze how humans will take every single damn thing, bad OR good to it's most ridiculous extreme. This is why so many causes manage to turn away potential supporters. Extremism in it's most exaggerated form turns everyone off, not just the "other side".
Finding a balance, choosing the battles with intelligence and reason, engaging common sense and education... This is what wins at the end of the day.
