One effort to support it was made by a demonstration of around 100 people that left from the UQAM encampment a bit after 7pm. When bike cops formed a line on rue Prince-Arthur to block the march from continuing onto McGill campus, marchers advanced on the line, throwing rocks at the police though not in sufficient numbers, and attempting to break through the line with a reinforced banner and umbrellas. Police used pepper spray and eventual riot squad backup to repel the demonstration, making at least one arrest.
