Oh no you don’t! I just heard a clamor of furious, tinny shrieks and looked up to see a baby swallow, ducking and diving for all it was worth, followed in hot pursuit by a small raptor with a pale chest and belly, followed immediately by the entire swallow clan. I’m pretty sure I saw baby duck out of the way as the mob showed the raptor the door.
One of the parents of the current porch chicks just flew back, checked the chicks, and then settled down on top of them. I know, fam. It’s scary out there.
