Good Morning beautiful Souls.
Today we learn about Carl Gustav Jung's view on Archetypes.

Carl Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, developed the concept of archetypes as part of his theory of the collective unconscious. According to Jung, archetypes are universal, archaic symbols and images that derive from the collective unconscious and are the psychic counterpart of instinct. These archetypes manifest in dreams, literature, art, and religion across different cultures and eras.
Here are some of the key archetypes identified by Jung:
The Self: Represents the unification of the unconscious and conscious mind in an individual. It symbolizes the quest for wholeness and self-realization.
The Shadow: Represents the unconscious part of the personality which the conscious ego does not identify in itself. The shadow is often experienced as an antagonist or dark figure in dreams and myths.
The Anima/Animus: The anima represents the feminine inner personality in males, while the animus represents the masculine inner personality in females. These archetypes help balance the masculine and feminine aspects within individuals.
The Persona: The persona is the mask or role that a person presents to the world. It is shaped by societal expectations and norms and can often be at odds with one's true self.
The Hero: Represents the part of us that seeks to overcome obstacles and achieve goals. The hero's journey is a common narrative archetype where the hero leaves the ordinary world, faces challenges, and returns transformed.
The Mother: Embodies nurturing, care, and fertility. This archetype can appear as a maternal figure, nature, or a symbol of creation and growth.
The Wise Old Man/Woman: Represents wisdom, knowledge, and guidance. This archetype often appears in myths and stories as a mentor or sage who helps the protagonist.
The Trickster: Embodies chaos, mischief, and change. The trickster disrupts the status quo and often brings about transformation through unconventional means.
