If we can remove an unnecessary middle man, then why don't we?
After 18 years of exclusively using #creditcards for all purchases made in person, I've switched to using #cash this year.
Using cash has feels much more in line with my values.
Paying with cash gives the full value of your money to the recipient, encourages you to spend less, and gives you #privacy.
Paying with credit deprives a significant amount from the recipient, encourages you to spend more (even when you pay it off in full each month), and removes your privacy.
I still use a 2%-points-back credit card when necessary, but I'm convinced I spend at least 2% less by using cash over credit whenever possible.
