What we call "animal" are more intelligent as one could think. I read for 2 years a book about it from Frans de Waal which title ist : "are we smart enough to know how smart animals are?"

A very recommended reading.

I saw for a couple of day a picture of two penguins in the area of Melbourne which seemed to comfort each other starring at City lights. It was assumed that the two were widowed and thus comfort each other... The story seems a bit too speculative and typical anthropomorphism... but what's real ist that the penguins living there are endangered by humans... That's what's important for me... At the south pole the situation ist also catastrophic for Penguins.
