So I was writing a story the other day and realised that my go-to trick for getting out of any plot hole that I've dug myself into is “throw in some Cthulhu”. Struggling with a time travel story? Through in Cthulhu. Thriller plot gone awry? Throw in some Cthulhu.
I may have to write this up as a self-help guide for writers.
