Trump is a straw man. He's a man in a clown suit in the spotlight(Where he wants to be) in the center ring of a circus, juggling. Outside of the glare of the spotlight are his enablers, who are really making the decisions.
The clown can't even juggle. He keeps dropping the bowling pins and most of the crowd comments. His supporters say "Aw! I like him anyway."
