From early on I have maintained, and continue to maintain, that productive use of LLMs requires acknowledgment of what they are: plausible bullshit generators. They are thus useful only in places where plausible bullshit is either the goal, or a step towards it.
A perfect example of this utility is in asking ChatGPT to generate backstory for TTRPG NPCs.
