In my opinion text editor should really be only one and the system should track current context. as soon as user's into text input context the keybindings and UI should change (just like smartphones track text-input context and show virtual keyboard, etc). It's possible with wayland's input-method protocol. Working on a prototype (very slowly cos of all things above).
I don't understand if Arcan solves this problem somehow
