My guess is it is similar to the way solar systems organize themselves so that all the planets are going the same direction. There was a slightly preferred direction in the beginning and the planets that were going the wrong way got eliminated and reintegrated into the preferred direction.
Spontaneous order whispers something. I just am too much a chimp to understand.
