Screwy system in the USA, but in the event of challenges, voter percentages carry a lot of weight.
Between Voter Suppression and anger, the UK GE saw barely half the electorate actually vote.
End result we have a government without any ethical legitimacy*, with an overwhelming majority in parliament due to our screwy system.
*Worst liars this century and they're proving more disreputable than the Blue brand Tories they replaced.
Also looking like the Labour party could split fairly soon anyway, so hopefully we won't have them for the full 5 years.
