One of my spicier takes is that API-centrism was a huge scam, only reinforcing the useless need for heavy front end architectures. Most sites/apps never need an API and you’re wasting a lot of effort building REST scaffolding and JavaScript complexity. Server-side serving of rendered pages is just fine.
