Yesterday I met the biggest #horse I’d ever seen. He’s a Shire horse. Very sweet and 20+ hands tall! I felt like I was in the presence of an elephant. The low point of his back was at the top of my head, and I could not reach the top of his head with my hand unless he bent down to meet me. His hooves were absolutely elephantine: easily 11 inches in diameter. Also he’s a youngster and still growing!
