My personal take is twofold.
Firstly, I strive to avoid the DenverCoder9 problem. Both for future-me as well as others having even a partial writeup will be better than nothing. Plus it can always be improved iteratively later. I do the same at work with confluence entries.
Secondly, I don't want to turn my leisure activities into work. I like results of course, but also the process should be enjoyable. If it's no fun I don't like doing it.
