Music too. A lot of people don't get this but old chiptune music was composed based on using the sound chip as an instrument or seeing how to get the most out of it. Even if it meant using tricks nobody would use today (for faux authenticity) such as making a SB16 do mod files (Epic Megagames did this a lot) or using the PCM channel to do samples (usually Japanese computer games).
New chiptune sounds soulless compared to say listening to some old PC98/x68k tunes or even Amiga mods.
