That’s exactly right. Every situation is different indeed so you have to optimize for all these factors. Certain people have access to different services and stabilities based on a slew of things. That said, generally in America (assuming banking access) if one has the means, its not a stretch to recommend 3+ months of cash as in the short term it’s volatility will be more stable. Most financial planners will def recommend this. YMMV though and family, debt, liabilities, dependents, and a million other things will play a factor. That’s why I tend to recommend if possible that its better to have a larger cash emergency fund than not. It’s generally a more conservative move that helps if one can make it happen.
