This poem is dishonest. The English were sadly very propagandised to hate in this era. The War Bond FOMO posters turn my stomach. Kipling's vibe often contrasts many of his contemporaries that simply pen that the wars were both grotesque and pointless, and that they want for their shire. The correct take on WWI+WWII is that of Aleister Crowley's : "It was a mass blood sacrifice, to usher in the new aeon" It is the correct take, because it is simply what happened.
It is OK to honour the god Tiw, but be sure you are not just being a puppet of an oligarchical class. If in doubt listen to Woden and Frigg.
