Microsoft is such trashy software. Recently setup a windows 10 install for a friend and the amount of information, questions, pins, passwords, security questions, local account, microsoft account, 20 robot captchas, that's right 20 robots captchas they ask you DURING installation is ridiculous.
Got locked out and had to start over again due to forgotten password by friend. Tried to reset it on Microsoft's website with no success. Ended up creating a new microsoft account.
Why do you need a Microsoft account? because Microsoft bothers you nonstop with pops to sign in to an account that doesn't exist.
Microsoft makes it ever harder to install if you are not connected to the internet to the point it won't let you install it. Finally finished installing it and saw a big message that said this computer will not support windows 11 in the future.
Haven't installed windows in years but I remember it was medium frustration. Much more fustration now. They keep pushing everyone to use their trashy microsoft accounts like oneDrive and so they can have full control of your computer.
Linux is way faster, simpler to install and to get going. Don't need no nonsense online account to install or use linux. I've used Linux for years on the majority of my computers.
