It appears that Dominik Tarczynski, a Member of the European Parliament and candidate for the Law and Justice's presidential election, has issued an apology to Lyudmyla Kozlovska and the Open Dialogue Foundation for defamation. The apology was published on January 3rd, 2025, after he lost his case in court.
Tarczynski had accused Kozlovska and the foundation of money laundering from Russia in 2019, both in a Deutsche Welle program and during his time as a Member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. He continued to make these false accusations while serving in the European Parliament.
The defamation lawsuit was filed by Kozlovska and the Open Dialogue Foundation in 2022, and on December 20th, 2024, the Court of Appeal in Warsaw rejected Tarczynski's appeal, ordering him to pay 10,000 PLN (approximately $2,200 USD) as compensation. The court also required Tarczynski to publish a public apology.
