That's a pretty big question, and potentially covers a big range of crisis severity.
The omly thing I've learned - and it isn't much - is that even if a crisis is real, a mood may be temporary. If my negative mood fades, the crisis will look different. And sometimes a negative mood is highly affected by biological stuff (not enough water, wrong meds, irritable bowel, etc etc). Can't fix the crisis until those things are improved.
