I first learned C in 1987, when it was small andsimple. The 1989 C standard made it larger and more complicated, but not terribly so. Later versions and relentless effort by compiler developers have made it into a large, complex language.

When I learned Python, in 1993, it was a small, simple language. Python 2 and 3 have made it large and complex.

I learned Rust in 2018, when it was already large and complex. This time I can't be blamed for that.
