A group of acquaintances and I have just been censured for talking about politics in a WhatsApp group.
Because we don’t agree with other people’s points of view,we were told not to talk about the topic anymore.
I think politics is present in our everyday lives. It should be discussed everywhere with a sober and open minded behaviour. For societies only grow when there’s a place for dialogue. Politicians are not Gods. They make mistakes. They work for the nation they are in charge of. No one should glorify any politician. This polarization is a symptom of a sick and brain washed society. I am afraid of what’s coming next. I have no hope in better days,but then I think of Nostr. A place we can be ourselves without the fear of being censored.
Freedom tech gives me a bit of hope that out there,there are like minded individuals. People that believe in freedom and dialogue. People that have remained human despite the synthetic reality we’re living in. Despite the lack of empathy that has become the new normal. I believe Nostr brings so much positivity and a fresh energy to virtual social interactions. I like to be here and I hope it keeps growing to a point everyone recognize the importance of freedom of speech and freedom of thought. Because the freedom of expressing ourselves and the ability to dialogue is what makes us human.Without it,we will definitely become soulless and animalistic creatures.
