January 6th afternoon, Shanghai Baoshan District Court: Chen Pinlin, director of the White Paper Movement documentary “Middle Urumqi Road,” was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months in prison after a 3-hour closed trial for the crime of provoking trouble.
The documentary collected a large number of real experiences filmed by the Chinese public during the strict epidemic prevention and control period, from the lockdown at home to buying high-priced vegetables, the forced transfer and isolation of positive patients, to the protests of Foxconn employees in Henan, and young people at home and abroad taking to the streets to resist the lockdown
The documentary was uploaded to the internet and released by Chen Pinlin after the first anniversary of the White Paper Movement
