The thing I take issue with about framing Trump voters as “un-American” is that … no, the problem is that they ARE American.
We need to put to rest the idea that Americans are paragons of morality, tolerance, and honor. We are a nation of self-absorbed ignoramuses.
The past 3 elections has pretty well proven that. Even the 2020 election where Trump ONLY got 74m votes pretty well supports this thesis.
The biggest voting block in America is the ~89m eligible voters who didn’t vote at all. Probably because they think “it doesn’t matter”. American indeed.
