Cambridge Entomological Club broadcasts their meetings. Last night Helen McCreery (Tufts U.) shared amazing research on how ants build bridges with their bodies.
Biologists are always chastising themselves for anthropomorphizing creatures. But, I sometimes wonder if that's an impossible standard. Ants are individuals, motivated by something (what?) Somehow these individual choices create emergent order.
Individually? they are deeply silly little ladies.
