Many of today's IT (and not only) problems come from the fact that decisions are made by marketing departments, not by technical teams.
Fun fact: among professional roles, I've always thought that salespeople are the ones who tell the most lies. Yet, they are also the ones who believe the lies of other salespeople the most. 😆
