Though pushing PWA installs on iOS can be a real grind, the user has to know to tap the share icon in Safari, then the drawer comes up, but even then the user won't see the Add to Home Screen option, they'll have to scroll up the drawer again to the snap. And added to that PWA is just not a term that lives in the public imagination just yet.

It's getting better. There have been a lot of hurdles already hurdled, particularly those to do with notifications, but I still have sympathy for dev teams that grit their collective teeth and decide to go the native app / App Store route, taking whatever hit they have to take to get the app through.
