the guy i'm talking about, for the record. what's funny is that these cybercriminals are fairly immune to consequence; Russia pivoted to promoting crypto once the Ukraine war kicked off, cooperation with the West is low, and Russia can draw from this resource for their own cybersecurity needs. it's created a perfect soup.
