I randomly had a reason to look up what a “flying shuttle” was, since a book I’m reading mentioned it as a Victorian innovation that led to a mechanized loom. I found a video of someone weaving with one and was struck by how much of the process I recognized from learning to weave recently on a rigid heddle loom. Learning is cool.
