That should be in addition to deflating the real estate market, but won't solve expensive housing prices. Housing is on the gaining side of the Cantillon Effect of inflationary real estate loans issued ultimately from the Fed. That effect will continue so long as mortgages are being handed out below the natural interest rate (around 10% usually). No amount of fiddling elsewhere will eliminate the effect, short of inflating *every* other market at the same rate, which would eliminate the point of bribing people with inflation money to take out a loan on a house.
