to clarify if anyone cares to know: this is with RDS Aurora (MySQL) and e.g., if you have drop a table that's like 10TB you'll keep getting billed indefinitely as there's a bug and the table data doesn't get deleted but they measure your database storage usage as the raw disk allocation, not what MySQL understands the database size to be.
