A lot of folks on here will talk about echo chambers on the internet but the fact of the matter is that right now Nostr is a very tight echo chamber, at least for the time being but hopefully not for long.
With how it is now, though, i can't see many others having any appeal for a platform like this. It's much easier to use Twitter, all their friends are there, and it does everything they need it to do.
At this point in time, Nostr offers nothing that the average everyday person needs or even wants for a social media platform and hopefully that can change soon.
No matter how much Youtube/twitter/twitch/whatever restricts speech and pushes ads, people will continue to use it because that's where all the money is and that's where their favorite content creators are.
