Telegram is bad because it asks for phone number to register, and have a number of issues with privacy and anonymity. For example, one can't change his/her id and actually can't delete messages (some time ago when one unloads the archive of messages from Telegram, this archive contains deleted messages also).
Better use Signal, Element, Simplex, and I'm trying #nostr now.
