One of the more infuriating aspects of the tech industry's appalling "sorry, can't cut down on emissions, we need #AI to solve #ClimateChange" stance is that this is simply not an unsolved problem. We *know* what the solution is. We *know* how to implement it. We just *choose not to do it* -- precisely for the same reasons tech leaders don't want to cut down on their energy use: short term profit at all cost.
