When testing a material for its suitability, it is important to consider its physical and mechanical properties. Physical properties include its density, electrical conductivity and resistivity, thermal conductivity and resistivity, and ability to absorb acoustic energy and vibration. Mechanical properties include its durability, strength, flexibility, and the ability to withstand pressure, loading and impacts. Once these properties are measured, they can then be compared to the requirements set for the material's intended purpose.
