Some people have a high time preference, which means they prioritise instant satisfaction over investing in the future, and vice versa is true for those with low time preferences.
The concept works well not only for bitcoin and nostr, but for me, also for faith. For example, I don't need to worry about judgement. That is best left to a far lower timescale than anything I could possibly fathom.
