There's another video after he healed up where he intentionally overcharges a bunch of rounds on a new gun, sets up a mannequin and tried to replicate it. It took a few tries, it was a pretty extreme overpressure event. I think the general consensus was someone must have taken the round apart and swapped the correct powder with pistol powder.
