I just re-watched the first episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, and I remember why I fell in love with the show.
Captain "Dad" is great. The history tapes of the second civil war was terrifying (especially the hangman noose). The call out to the domed forests of "Silent Running" was a nice touch. But most of all is the sense of hope, how we could have the Federation and Starfleet if we could just be nice to each other for a change.
Call me a child like dreamer, but that's my life.
