Yesterday my daughter, 14, had her first sports lesson at her new school. The teacher, around 50, female, explained the dress code: No tight-fitting shorts, no wide necklines, girls with large "bust sizes" must wear a sports bra. Anything else would "irritate the boys". Daughter felt deeply unsettled and sexualised by that. At her Irish school the (male) sports teacher told the students "Your body belongs to you, and you must feel comfortable."
