Don't get me wrong- I adore the Linux and open source world. It has problems, but I'm glad I'm here.

I fought to enter the Linux world, and still fight to be accepted in these spaces. Meanwhile, the vintage computing world has *always* felt welcoming to me.

One of these worlds tends toward a lot of gatekeeping. The other is just glad you're having fun. And that's not nothing.
