I have a hard time with the word faith. It’s a surrender of the mind—a voluntary abdication of reason in favor of comforting delusion. Faith is what you resort to when reason and evidence aren’t on your side. Like the Tao Te Ching says, hope is as hollow as fear, and faith and hope are spun from the same cloth.
