We live backing onto a field. They spend a lot of time on the open wall, but have never once gone over.
Next door's garden, though, is paradise. I put up wire, but Lily kept getting found there. Could not understand it.
Eventually, I caught her. She had to flap upwards, turn into a streamlined missile at the exact right time, bury into the vegetation, flip the wire and pop out the top. Hugely complex set of events, needing abstract planning and thought.
