Something I've noticed...

When large-scale humanitarian crises have happened (e.g. the calamitous Afghanistan withdrawal, Gaza, Helene/Milton, LA fires), displacing large numbers of people, I've observed a disconnect in nocoiners' reaction to bitcoiners. The exchange usually goes something like:

Bitcoiner: "imagine how much generational wealth the victims have lost... #Bitcoin fixes this/hold your keys, etc."

Nocoiner: what kind of monster peddles Bitcoin at the moment like this?

What the nocoiner fails to understand is that in fiat world crypto and trading are entertainment. A game. So, to them, bringing up bitcoin during a moment of profound tragedy is crass at best, sociopathic at worst. It seems tone deaf. They completely miss the fact that #Bitcoin is different. Bitcoiners are different. To us, bitcoin is NOT a game. It is not a slot machine. It is the cure to one of the fundamental ills of human society. It is deadly serious. So at a time of major human loss, this is the EXACT time that Bitcoin should be highlighted.
