I’m not sure this reflects what’s actually happening with the BoE.
It seems like the BoE don’t view their remit as ‘strictly’ to control the headline inflation rate, but the rate(s) in the underlying sectors.
Specifically now, Services inflation rate appears to be their focus.
I’m not sure if this is a change in remit or interpretation, but it suggests the headline figure is not useful.
I wish Journo’s would question why this is & why BoE appear to think this?
