I mean, to take an obnoxiously nuanced view of it, capitalism both gave and took away American prosperity in a sense.
I think moderated capitalism can be a good thing, but at that point, it may not truly be capitalism.
But we're past the industrial revolution that *needed* workers and therefore "provided jobs" (although I will never agree with calling any corporation a "job creator").
