One of the “features” the CBDC-advocates have spoken about is programmability.
So for example they could program it that every CBDCbuck in your account beyond 20,000 has an expiry date 1 month from now - spend it or the money will disappear from your account.
This level of control is what central planners want. Central banks setting the price of money comes with a massive lag effect, if they could remove money supply with the click of a button they could actually control inflation rather than the guessing game they do now; all it would take is everyone being a serf whose economic status is determined by the central authorities and they would fucking love that.
