My idea for a video game in 2018 when I was deep in thesis world was a newspaper simulator set in 1910s Java called Verantwoordelijk Redacteur (responsible editor) with gameplay similar to Papers, Please but in this case you're the editor of a small Malay newspaper. You have articles about war, social disorder and colonial violence crossing your desk and you have to try and censor or run them in an effort to maximise subscriptions while avoiding exile or time in jail (the "journalist's hotel").
